Scottish Power Renewables Whitelee Windfarm visitor centre

Whitelee Windfarm is set to get greener with work on a 75 turbine extension underway. This means that Whitelee will gain an additional 217 Mega Watts of capacity, enough to power the equivalent of over 124,000 homes!

Work on this exciting new development will commence in November 2010 and will be ongoing for approximately 20 months, with completion set for the summer of 2012.

We have appointed John Sisk and Son Limited/ Roadbridge as Principal Contractor and they will be working with us on all aspects of the construction.

We take health and safety very seriously and as part of our extensive procedures, the construction site will be closed to all members of the public until work on the extension is complete. Some areas of the windfarm will be restricted during construction.

All construction traffic will be directed to site via the A77/M77 and will not travel through Eaglesham in order to minimise disruption to the local community.

We will keep you updated regularly as work progresses, look out for the new turbines going up!
